Blog Post 37.
I was in a Daniels College of Business study room at 10pm on the evening of March 13th alongside friends Nathan Garrett, Sam Noonan and Joe Sieben. We were doing our best to study against the harsh procrastination-inducing winds of week 10 that pushed us toward all places but that wherein our research papers would be completed.
Then, something amazing happened.
I was watching a week 6 recap of “The Bachelor” on Nathan’s computer when, in the upper right hand corner of the screen (thank heavens for iMessage on the Mac), a notification appeared from the University stating that, due to severe weather predictions, all academic operations would be suspended the following day.
And that extinguished what little flicker remained of my academic flame for the subsequent 24 hours.

Some went to the Stadium Inn, the watering hole down the street. I went home and read and slept.
I awoke at 10am to the transition from a night of rain to a day of snow. The bomb cyclone had arrived.
I read some, I made coffee, I encountered Heidi, Madison and Ella.
We decided the theme of the day was Snow day, no rules. So I ate salad for breakfast.
The rest was history.

It was nice to be forced to cozy up, read and hang out with my roommates (all of whom I enjoy being around).
I caught up on breathing and reading and wearing sweats and staring out the window.
When the fence fell over from the wind, Heidi and I just looked at it, laughing as though watching it fall on a TV screen.
We baked a lot.

I think there should be a bomb-cyclone once a month. It was just what I needed.
